Spread Magazine – ON/OFF

Design, art, and culture worth spreading. Spread is a student-run design magazine initiated by Professor Nanni Goebel at the University of Applied Sciences Freiburg. Each issue focuses on a single theme—explored through editorial design, photography, and contributions from international artists and designers. The first issue, titled ON/OFF, explored the boundaries between presence and absence, analog and digital, stillness and movement. My contribution spanned several areas: – Editorial Design: I collaborated on the layout and visual language of the magazine. – Photography & Concept Development: I created and directed the visual series Work in Progress, featured in the magazine. – Exhibition Design: I co-curated and designed the physical exhibition that launched the issue, including the poster campaign and spatial layout. The entire project was a multidisciplinary collaboration, combining editorial storytelling with visual experimentation and public engagement.

Work in Progress

Somewhere between presence and absence,
between what we wear and what we are,
this series captures identity in transition.
Clothing becomes code.
Body becomes language.
Two people switch outfits
and with them, perspective.
ON becomes OFF.
Fixed becomes fluid.
Self becomes shared.
We are not finished.
We are becoming.
